34. The Soul Purpose of Sleep

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Dear Guides,

What is the role of sleep in our lives? How can we reap the most benefit from this period each night? How can this time help us in our waking lives? Can we connect with God, Source, consciously during that time? Really nourish our soul’s thirst?

Excerpt from Minda’s channeling on 5.11.2010:

Dear ones,

We feel your energy tingling on a topic full of such mystery to you. We realize that, in your experience, a lot of this period of sleep you feel like you are actually checked out of your active lives, taking a break, stepping aside to let regeneration occur and keep your systems healthy.

But from our perspective, there is much more happening during this fertile time. It is a time when you receive injections of soul strength and nourishment, the will to continue to pioneer the pathways you are clearing in your world.

There are many aspects of interactions occurring on the soul level, some of which might resemble a boxer in the side of the ring, where he gets towel dried, bandaged and patched up, whispered encouragements and coached on moves to make and adjustments to apply during the next round.

These interludes lift the morale and bolster the spirit to go back for more of the day experiences which may include confrontation and rubbing shoulders with many different energies, each with diverging intentions, many in opposition or completely different target lines from your own.

During your sleeping hours, you are attended to in a most loving and nurturing way. Who gathers around you? Your guides, your team of souls, all those who are watching out for you, your partners in this life, all the beings and higher guides who are concerned with you and / or upon whom you call for this rest and recovery period.

33. Self-Confidence

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Dear Guides,

What is self-confidence? Why are some people less confident? Are there ways to develop the kind of self-confidence that does not rely on having special abilities or proving oneself?

Excerpt from Minda’s channeling on 5.5.2010:

Dear ones,

We love your concern for your fellow man, many of whom do struggle with this issue. It is much more prevalent than you might imagine. Even the many who show no signs of a lack of self-confidence have moments, many more than you would ever imagine, where they feel insecure or unsure about their voyage through this lifetime.

Self-confidence comes from having good-feeling answers to inner questions. These are the questions of one’s self about who you are, why you are here, are you having anything to contribute to others, will you be recognized by others, and are you truly worthy to be taking up your corner of the globe?

When you have an inner knowing that you are important, worthy in your own or God’s eyes (or whatever manner of measurement is meaningful to you), then you have a natural sense of ownership which carries you through many of life’s bumps.

It is almost as if having this inner knowing is like having greased your car or having good suspension on your car. It makes for a much smoother ride, with less jostling and jolting shocks and upheavals.

So it is a very valuable attribute and one worthy of developing. Some of you don’t have it because you are in fact here to discover that very inner worth as a stepping stone to doing the greater work you have enlisted to do.

. . .

But ideally, when you have passed all the levels of understanding and you graduate with your degree in self-confidence, it will be because you have come to realize that it required, in fact, none of the claims to fame that you may have thought were so important, that so clearly gave you that stamp of approval.

In fact, you are important and valuable without any actions or expressions or accomplishments at all. And to understand that is to have the greatest understanding of all. Your confidence comes because you have a self. Simply that. You are a soul. And so that is the quest for many of you, to come to appreciate that one fact and find the value in just that.

32. Wanting to Control

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Dear Guides,

How can our tendency to want to make the world better for ourselves by controlling our environment be used in a way that doesn’t infringe on our fellow man?

Excerpt from Minda’s channeling on 4.27.2010:

Dearest ones,

Your desires stem from pure wishes to create the world and life according to the template that you have envisioned before undertaking this journey of a lifetime. You see the way in which things would unfold for you in perfect sequence in order to manifest the circumstances and situations in which you intend to live. Your strong will before entering this arena flows forth to enable the world to construct around you in the most appropriate ways to manifest for you what you need.

So forgive yourselves for any over-exuberance in desiring to control your environment - it comes from the best of intentions.

The part you forgot before arrival is the fact that you will not have all the control you were used to having on the other side. On Earth, your own force hits the rest of the environment like a wave crashing on the rocks. It is a rude awakening, but there are so many oppositional forces to which you have a natural resistance (and for good reason) that you are affronted and confronted at many levels all the time.

. . .

Here the development of trust in yourself, in the Universe, in your connection with the Universe, in others, in the power of Source to bring you exactly what you need in a given moment is what will help you maintain the centered feeling, no matter what destabilizing forces surround you.

31. Low Expectations: The doom & gloom failure-prevention system

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Dear Guides,

Some people hold lower expectations so that success is a happy surprise and failure stings less. Does this doom and gloom approach work to ward off bad results?

Excerpt from Minda’s channeling on 4.7.2010:

Dear ones,

We are very excited to answer this question since it encapsulates the mindset of many people surrounding you in many of your cultures on Earth, although not all. But those of you who do live in this environment have just a little bit of an increased challenge to overcome, like a little bit more drag on your cars, a little less motor power and speed and agility.

So you can deduce from this statement that it is not exactly an attitude that works in your favor. It comes with a lower vibration, a coarser vibration, and does not bring forward the smooth grace and ease with which you can be gifted, if you so choose.

It is like having two choices for a desktop. One is raw wood which will have many splinters if you run your hand across it. The other is sanded smooth and even varnished with a glossy finish, so that your hand glides over it with the least amount of friction and even with a sort of momentum.

The belief that you will prevent problems by naming them and predicting them can seem appealing in that it stems from that valuable precept of old of naming your enemy, knowing who your enemy is.

And the truth is that to know and be aware of your challenges and pitfalls is extremely valuable. That is the first step to deciding how to change your attitudes, beliefs, actions to take, choices to make. So the basis of the precept is valuable.

But where it falls short is that if you name any unknown as an enemy you prejudge and cut yourself off from remaining neutral until you are much more sure if in fact it is a real enemy or not. In other words, you close your field of vision, prejudice yourself as to what a situation or person might bring into your life, and color your perceptions of it too early to give it a chance to bring in its own possibilities.
